Romantic everyday drama with otherworldly beautiful snapshots about nurses in Mumbai and their love relationships. The film depicts in a low-key and intimate way a close friendship between two women. How they try to settle in and find a way to live on their own terms in the hectic metropolis of Mumbai. A trip to a coastal village gives the two women a breather and an opportunity to realize their desires in life. People and environments are rendered with sublime photography in a blue color scale during the monsoon rainy season and red tones during the dry season. 

All We Imagine As Light has been praised by critics and shown at numerous festivals around the world. It won the Grand Prix du Jury in Cannes, the festival's second place after the Palme d'Or, and was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Director and Best Foreign Film. The American National Society for Film Critics awarded All We Imagine As Light the award for Best Foreign Film.
