Black Dog

Lang, a former local rock star, returns to his hometown on the edge of the Gobi Desert after a long prison sentence. The year is 2008, and the city is to be cleared of stray dogs ahead of the Beijing Olympics. Lang needs money and takes a job as a dog catcher. But most of all, he is determined to catch a notorious black greyhound – a real badass among the city’s stray dogs – for which a large reward has been promised. But when they finally meet, things don’t go as expected. Instead, the aggressive bad guy becomes Lang’s best friend in a city where he has plenty of old enemies.
