I Get Knocked Down

11 yrs 88 minutes 2021 7.5

In 1997, British anarcho-punk band Chumbawamba took the world by storm with the megahit "Tubthumping" – the immortal 90s anthem that climbed the charts worldwide. From underground to arenas, from radical punk to global pop success – the journey was meteoric. But they still didn't see themselves as mainstream stars, but as rebels and troublemakers with a mission to change the world. 24 years later, the band's charismatic frontman Dunstan Bruce stands at a crossroads. 59 years old, angry, disillusioned and with a feeling of having become invisible in a world that seems to be falling apart. But how does a retired radical regain his voice – and his anarchist fervor – when he has lost both direction and audience? A humorous, honest and inspiring documentary about the rise of Chumbawamba – and about Dunstan's personal struggle to find meaning, identity and the revolution within. A life-affirming rebellion against aging, resignation and silence.
