Australia, 1970s. A 200-ton blue whale washes up on a local beach and the kids think it's the biggest thing that's ever happened to them. Behind closed doors, the mums and dads on this quiet suburban street celebrate in their own way, joining the sexual revolution. It's a time of boxed wine, ugly haircuts, ugly clothing styles and bad choices - but it's a beautiful one. And like the rotting whale, everything is about to go really bad.
