The Constant Gardener
In a remote part of northern Kenya, Tessa Quayle, a British volunteer aid worker, is brutally murdered. Her traveling companion, a doctor from the neighborhood, seems to have escaped from the crime scene and all indications are that he would be the culprit. The British High Commission in Nairobi, where Tessa's husband, the quiet Justin Quayle is employed is trying to silence the story. But Justin, who realizes that everything is not right, begins to self-investigate the case and realizes that Tessa got to close to a tangle of corruption. A global pharmaceutical industry is using african people as guinea pigs for testing new AIDS drugs, with the acceptance of both the Kenyan and British government's.
