Battleship Potemkin
The Russian Expressionist Sergei Eisenstein's masterpiece Battleship Potemkin, about the beginning of the revolution 1905. Has been called the world's best film several times since the premiere 1925. It is also considered to be the worlds most significant propaganda film with violent pictures which still both upset and inspire - not least the world-famous scene with the stroller running down the Odessa staircase while the people are massacred by the tsar's soldiers. The film was banned in Sweden until 1926 and was first released 1952
