There is not much happening in the made-up little town of Lafors in Västergötland, when suddenly a German discount chain called Superbilly show an interest in opening a store. This could mean 500 new jobs in town. The local government rub their hands together and decide to let Lafors young people make a commercial about their home town to convince the Germans of its excellence. Aida and her friend Dana take on the challenge. Maria Brander at Aftonbladet writes: "Amateurs is a real feel-good film without any synthetic additives." Gabriela Pichler wrote the script together with the author Jonas Hassen Khemiri. The film won a Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival and was nominated for several Guldbaggar.
