The young student Ahmed lives his life like most other Belgian boys his age when he meets a charismatic imam and starts to take an interest in a radicalized form of Islam. His behavior changes, he begins to pray regularly and criticizes his family and the teachers in the school who he believes do not live up to what his new faith requires. He becomes increasingly convinced that anyone who does not live up to his radical interpretation of the Qur'an must be stopped. One day, Ahmed makes a decision that will change his life forever. The directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne won the best director award at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 and the film was also nominated for Palme d’Or.
