A beautiful period drama from Amsterdam, Chinese martial arts, and a detective story for children are some of the features in this week's newly released films on Viddla.
We meet the two young detectives Lasse and Maja as Valleby Day is about to be organized. A series of bold thefts prompts the LasseMaja detective agency to spring into action, and soon they are in a full cat-and-mouse game with the thief. Will they handle the challenges once again? Jet Li stars in the film Fist of Legend from 1994. The story is set in 1937, when a Chinese martial artist returns to Shanghai and discovers that his master is dead, and that the school is threatened by the Japanese protectorate. The film is mentioned, among other places, in the book Ultimate Fights in the Movies from 2002.
From Darkness to Light takes us into one of Hollywood's greatest mysteries: comedy legend Jerry Lewis' last film The Day The Clown Cried, a project announced in 1972 but that suddenly disappeared. This 2024 documentary is richly illustrated with both behind-the-scenes footage from the film production and raw footage from the film itself.
