Suffragette
Suffragette is an exciting drama about the foot soldiers in the early feminist movement, women forced underground into a dangerous cat and mouse game with an increasingly brutal state. They were working women who had seen that peaceful protests did not achieve anything. They saw a more radical struggle as the only way to force change and they were willing to lose everything in their struggle for equality - their jobs, their homes, their children and their own lives. Upsala Nya Tidning's reviewer Susanne Sigroth-Lambe writes that "it's an impressive movie in many ways, with fine acting and visually ambitious" as well as "a solid tribute to a movement of human rights when the nineteen hundreds was young."
