In a field hospital in the aftermath of the First World War lies young soldier Edouardo, who survived a suicide mission against all odds. His face is deformed, but he lives. He is now free to return to his life as a successful artist in Paris, but must then also be confronted by his loveless father. Together with another soldier and friend, he decides to pretend to have died in the war, returning to the city masked but free from his father. Together, the two friends begin to take revenge on the system that sent them out in the war. The French drama See You Up There became a big success in the theaters with over two million visitors and was nominated for 13 César and won for best director, script, photo and costume.
