After clearing his name and finally succeeding in arresting the criminal network leader who framed him for murder in Police story, the Hong Kong police officer Ka-Kui Chan (Jackie Chan) must now take the consequences of the devastation that occurred during the arrest. The police chief has relocated him to the traffic unit, but when the ring leader he put in jail suddenly gets released, his life is threatened, and he must once again be the best fighter for law and justice that Hong Kong has to offer. Just like its predecessor, Police story 2 was awarded the best action choreography award at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
