Frantz tells the story of Anna Hoffmeister, a young German whose fiancé, Frantz, was killed in the battles against France during World War I. One day, when a mysterious Frenchman, Adrien, lays flowers on Frantz's grave, strong feelings and passion arise. Frantz, by French director François Ozon, competed and attracted attention both at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festival and leading part actor, Paula Beer, was awarded "Best Young Actress" in Venice. Fredrik Sahlin, a reviewer at Sweden’s Television, says "Frantz is a movie that, albeit only for a few minutes, restores hope in humanity."
