Journalist Jay Bahadur worships his predecessors in the field of investigative journalism. He dreams of being one of those who provide the major media channels with important revelations and illuminates injustice. After an inspiring meeting with one of his idols, he decides to leave his safe life in Canada and head to Somalia in search of a big scoop. He meets a local fixer who promises to help him infiltrate a gang of pirates in the area. Soon he finds himself in the middle of a lawless country far from anything he has ever experienced.
