Few have influenced as many directors as Fritz Lang, one of the absolute greatest giants in film history. The digitally restored version of Lang's silent film classic Metropolis from 1927 is a violent and creepily unpleasant vision of the future, which, especially with the answer in hand, still both frightens the audience and inspires new filmmakers. A young man from the upper class leaves his luxury life and joins the oppressed lower class in a revolt. According to Bonniers stora filmguide it is both the ingredients and the fantastic scenography and classic special effects that "make the movie a must". The film is presented here in its full length.
