In a small society in the middle of the countryside in the wild west lives the midwife Liz (Dakota Fanning) with her husband (Kit Harington) and two children. When the new pastor (Guy Pierce) comes to town, Liz immediately gets a feeling that something is wrong. Immediately after his arrival, the family experiences a series of unpleasant events and Liz realizes that she was right all along. She decides to take matter in her own hands and suddenly life is at stake. The film has been a big success in film festivals and was awarded with the Golden Lion at the Film Festival in Venice.
