In this classic and Oscars-winning film, the successful director Salvatore Di Vita is told that his old friend Alfredo has passed away. Salvatore recalls his childhood and how the love of the film emerged in the shadow of the Second World War's. Alfredo worked as a projectionist at Cinema Paradiso and the deep friendship between the boy and Alfredo started there. When Alfredo loses his eyesight in an accident, Salvatore take over Alfredo's job. But when the cinema is closed, Salvatore promise to never return to his hometown.
