Watership Down
Martin Rosen's award-winning animated adventure Watership down, after Richard Adam's novel by the same name, was successful in cinemas when it came out in 1978. A herd of wild rabbits is threatened by human expansion and breaks up from Sandleford's meadows to seek a new settlement. Fiver has foorseen the danger and the powerful Hazel becomes the leader. Together they bring the cocky Bigwig, the poetic Dandelion, the shrewd Blackberry and others. Unknown enemies and dangers await them in the greenish English landscape, and they are being subjected to difficult tests. Eventually, they start to realize that the carefree and innocent world they once lived in is forever gone. Will they ever reach their new home in Watership Down?
