Detroit
Detroit is the filmization of the five-day riot in the summer of 1967 that led President Lyndon B. Johnson to call in the National Guard against its own citizens. The result was 43 dead and over 400 injured. Sydsvenskans Mattias Oscarsson notes: “In a continued segregated US, where new police abuses are being committed against the African American population, and organizations such as Black Lives Matters (Black Lives Are Important) receive the beating of Blue Lives Matters (police lives are important) to feel the smoke smell from the burning city. As a history lesson, and as a starting point for a discussion, Detroit is brilliant”. The director is the Oscar-winning Kathryn Bigelow (The hurt locker, Zero dark thirty).
The film is not playable outside of Sweden
