We get to follow a group of German soldiers during World War II. The film begins in Italy, where the unit are placed to recover from earlier battles. They are told that they are supposed to take the city of Stalingrad in Russia. Something that will be a much bigger challenge for them than they initially thought. The film, which has won several awards, was nominated for Best Production at the 1993 Bavarian Film Awards.
