Drive

15 yrs 96 minutes 2011 7.8

The driver (Ryan Gosling) is a stunt driver who works with movie recordings in the days and extras as a getaway car driver at night. This anonymous lone wolf falls in love when he meets the beautiful young neighbor (Carey Mulligan). Irene, who has a little son, is drawn into a dangerous world by her husband Standard (Oscar Isaac) who returns after serving a prison sentence. To help Irene out The Driver acts as getaway car driver with Standard in a robbery that unexpectedly degenerates, and suddenly he is chased by Los Angeles's most dangerous criminal league. Michael Tapper in Sydsvenskan writes about this, Cannes rewarded film,as both elegant and silent, and that "almost every image could be framed and hung on the wall", and that it is a "sparse, artistic clear and razor-sharp thriller". Fredrik Strage of DN calls Drive a "shimmering beautiful and shockingly raw," and "leaving other action films behind in a cloud of carbon monoxide."
