Two stranger's lives cross due to a devastating plane crash. Roman Melnyk (Arnold Schwarzenegger) looks forward to getting together with his wife and pregnant daughter. Both are returning home to Ohio after a few months' stay in Ukraine. But the family will never be reunited since they die in dramatically disturbing circumstances. Melnyk can not forgive air traffic controller Jake Bonanos (Scoot McNairy) fatal mistake, and decides to avenge his family's death. Aftermath is based on a real airplane accident that occurred in 2002 and the events that followed 478 days later.
