The Simple-Minded Murderer
Sven has a hard time speaking clearly due to being hare-lipped and is thus called “the idiot" by many in his surroundings. When his mother dies, it is decided that he is going to be placed with factory owner Höglund who uses him as an unpaid worker. But with Anna and her family, Sven is met with warmth and friendship and gets a paid employment. However, Höglund does not appreciate losing free labor and decides to take revenge... The Simple-Minded Murderer won several awards at various film festivals and was well received by critics. Åke Janzon wrote in SvD that "it's a magnificent movie, in many ways by one of the great in the Swedish film history."
