The Dressmaker
The Dressmaker is Australian Jocelyn Morrhouse's film version of Rosalie Ham's novel about the successful seamstress and fashion designer Tilly, who returns to her home village to take care of her old mother. She is also looking for revenge because she banished from her hometown at age 10. She does not remember why she was banished, but she knows that it has to do with a boy's death. While she sews dresses that allowed people to prosper, the relation with those who once got her to leave town get even worse. A stylish drama with comic undertones about love, revenge and haute couture.
