A well-known psychic medium, Helga Ullmann, sees in a vision how someone in her environment is guilty of a terrible murder that has recently taken place. Later she is attacked in her apartment and becomes a victim of the same murderer. The music teacher Marcus Daly becomes a witness to the deed and goes out with a reporter to find clues that can lead them to the killer. Director Dario Argento is one of the pioneers behind the Italian horror genre Giallo and Deep Red is considered by many as his first masterpiece.
