A Prayer Before Dawn
British expat and former boxer Billy Moore (Joe Cole) lives an uprooted life on the streets of Thailand. Hunting for the next fix and arranged fights takes up most of his time until one day, the police storms into the apartment to arrest him for drug offenses. He is sentenced to three years in the infamous Klong Prem prison, a prison where murder, abuse and violence is the norm. Billy realizes that he must start boxing again in order to not end up at the bottom of the prison hierarchy. The film is based on Billy Moore's autobiography of the same name. Oscar Westerholm writes in Nöjesguiden: "Joe Cole is a brilliant, blood dripping bundle of muscles through the whole film. He has few lines of dialogue and the ones he has are laconic. But he manages to communicate desperation, fear and longing through his feverishly subdued acting".
