True story of the Kelly Gang takes place in Australia in the 1870s and follow the outlaw Ned Kelly and his gang, who do what they can to keep themselves out of the law maker's grasp. George MacKay (Captain Fantastic) stars as Kelly. The film is based on Peter Carey's novel by the same name and was acclaimed at the Toronto Film Festival in 2019. The script was written by Shaun Grant (Mindhunter, Berlin Syndrome), while Justin Kurzel directed.
