Le Bonheur

11 yrs 79 minutes 1965 7.7

François is a happily married father and carpenter in a small town in France. One day he meets a woman who works at the post office and falls in love with her. The two start having a relationship. He thinks that the happiness of his life has been extended to contain both women, but will his wife see it the same way? The film is a study of monogamy and the consequences of striving for one's own personal happiness seen through the gaze of acclaimed French director Agnès Varda. The film was one of her earlier works and its subject created some controversy when released in 1965.
