Prevenge
Prevenge is a twisted black comedy by Alice Lowe about a pregnant woman who becomes a serial killer under the influence of her unborn child. Ruth cannot help her urge to murder. It’s her unborn misanthropic child who forces her, and who blames the society for being without a father. The child communicates with Ruth through the womb, and teaches her how to entrap and eventually kill their unsuspecting victims. In a battle between her own conscience, loneliness and prenatal depression, Ruth must now choose to either be destroyed or to deliver when it's time to give birth. Alice Lowe is both the author and director as well as the the lead role, all during her own pregnancy. Prevenge was nominated for the Bronze Horse at Stockholm Film Festival in 2016.
