Lordi – Monsterman

The hardcore band Lordi took the world by storm in 2006 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest. They became the only metal band and the only Finnish contribution that won the competition. The band's front figure Mr. Lordi, Tomi Putaansuu, became a star overnight. In this documentary, the director Antti Haase follows his childhood friend Tomi back to Rovaniemi where it all began. The film also takes us behind the scenes during the years of succession, but after 2010, the band has problems and Lordi is unable to create something new. The press from the fans is huge and Tomi hopes to find back to the joy of creating. He has sworn eternal faith with the monster rock and has no plans to grow up. The film has been described as a story of manic creativity and about the courage to be what you want to be.
